The Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has recently undergone a major transfer in its top hierarchy. The APF has transferred 11 Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) and posted seven newly promoted individuals to different departments. The transfer also saw the heads of all eight departments being transferred in terms of transfers and postings.
The transfers of the DIGs include Anjani Kumar Pokharel to Barah Bahini Sunsari, Dipendra Shah to Chinnamasta Bahini Mahottari, Pashupatinath Bahini, and Purushottam Thapa to Kathmandu. Meanwhile, Lakshman Bahadur Singh will lead Gadhimai Bahini Makwanpur, Kalidas Dhoubji has been assigned to Muktinath Bahini Kaski, Vidur Khadka to Vindhyavasini Bahini Lumbini, Pradeep Kumar Pal to Maheshwari Bahini Surkhet, and Kumar Newpan to Baidyanath Bahini Kailali.
The transfers and postings were implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday. In addition to the DIGs, 11 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of the armed forces have also been transferred to new positions.
This transfer is expected to bring in a fresh perspective and renewed leadership to the APF, strengthening its ability to maintain peace and security in Nepal. The transfer of APF's top officials will lead to more efficient management of the department, as new officials bring new strategies and approaches.
