APF Nepal Announces Om Bahadur Salami as Jawan of the Year:
Armed Police Force Nepal has selected Assistant Constable Om Bahadur Salami, the brave rescuer of the year, as Jawan of the Year. Appreciating the special contribution made by the Armed Police Force to the organization, Salami has been selected as the Young Man of the Year (2077 BS).
On the 20th anniversary, Salami will be declared the Jawan of the Year. The Armed Police Force (APF) has been selecting the best personnel of the year from the lowest level personnel to the senior constables.
Since the then Inspector General of Armed Police, Kosh Raj Wanta, started declaring Billaddar Jawan as Jawan of the year 2069 BS, the Armed Forces has been continuing it.
The Armed Police Force has been giving high priority to the FPU mission. The person declared young of the year is automatically selected for the FPU mission.
Similarly, a child of an employee who has been declared Jawan of the Year has been given a scholarship at the rate of Rs. Similarly, the Inspector General of Armed Police also provides the tag of the year Jawan to be worn on the chest. When the year Jawan is declared, Rs. 10,000 in cash and a certificate are also given. Those who have been declared Jawan of the year are viewed with high esteem even within the organization.
The government has been paying special attention to the professional development and financial support of Gotakhor in recent days. Not long ago, the government had decided to insure the Gotakhor to the tune of Rs 1 million and to pay him Rs 300 a day for rescue work.
The Armed Police Force, on the other hand, has been arranging free education for two children of Gota Khor up to class 12 in APF school. This arrangement has been made through the welfare fund run by the Armed Police Force. The then Inspector General of the Armed Police Sanat Kumar Basnet established a welfare fund in the Armed Police Force in 2066 BS.
Salami, who has been declared the Jawan of the year, is a resident of Lekbensi Municipality-3 of Surkhet. He is currently working at the Disaster Management Training School in Kurintar. He is also Gota Khor.
