ANFA Technical Center to be Constructed in Kaski:
All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is going to build a technical center (ANFA Academy) in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality of Kaski. Preparations have been made to build a modern and well-equipped football academy on 500 Ropanis of land in Bhedabari of Ward No. 6 with the financial support of FIFA, the highest governing body of football.
ANFA has stated that it is preparing to invite bids by completing all the paperwork required for the construction of the academy. The ANFA has taken the academy as a 'dream project' of football.
The process was started two years ago by selecting the site for the construction of the academy as the road infrastructure and access to Machhapuchchhre and Annapurna mountain range can be seen in Bhedabari located at a distance of 14 km from Pokhara.
ANFA Central Committee Vice-Chairman Krishna Bahadur Thapa said that the ANFA Working Committee has already decided to provide a Rs 170 million budget for the construction of the academy in the first phase. It is said that Rs 800 to 900 million will be invested in the project.
In the multi-purpose project proposed by ANFA, a parapet with a capacity of 500 to 1000 spectators will be prepared; There are plans to build a football field, two futsal fields, two practice fields, a dormitory with the main field, administration building, fireplace, guest block, gym, medical and rehabilitation center, artificial mini-pitch, beach football field, and other structures.
According to ANFA, it is planned to promote it as a training ground for players of local and foreign clubs. According to Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality (Gaupalika) Chairman Karna Bahadur Gurung, ANFA has urged the state government to embark on the river on both sides of the proposed site. Rural Municipality Chairman Gurung said that the project would be important not only for Machhapuchchhre but also for the prosperity of football in Gandaki and the entire country.
While inspecting the proposed land for ANFA Technical Center on Friday, Chief Minister Gurung expressed the commitment of the state government to work for the protection of the land cut off by the Mardi and Idi rivers before starting the project. ‘Given the risk of river erosion, there are fears that the project may go elsewhere. The state government will help control river erosion, 'he said, adding that' the government is committed to setting up a technical center near Pokhara. '
