Government of Nepal, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Alternative Energy Promotion Center, Mid Baneshwar, Kathmandu, Nepal Notice Regarding Call for Applications for Solar Irrigation System Installation
The Government of Nepal, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Alternative Energy Promotion Center, in collaboration with the German Cooperation Agency under KFW, has published this notice for all concerned to submit applications for the installation of Solar Irrigation Systems (Solar Pumping Systems) under the project "Promotion of Solar Energy in Rural and Semi-urban Regions of Nepal" operated by this center.
Description of the Program: Install Solar Pump for Community Irrigation
To Submit Application:
- The community should have an existing power distribution service from any source of water.
- The community must have at least 300 meters of existing irrigated land.
- The community must have a financial capability of covering 50% of the total cost of the project.
Required Documents:
- Decision copy of the meeting held by the consumer committee.
- Letter indicating the names and areas of the landowners.
- Citizenship certificate of the landowners.
- If the land is under lease, a copy of the lease agreement is certified by the local body.
- Recommendation letter from the local body.
To install the community-based solar irrigation system, the community users or committee must submit the required documents along with the duly filled application form prepared by the center to the office or email it to [email protected].
The applicants must meet the minimum criteria as per the center's policy for community-based solar energy systems. The necessary documents and the application form can also be downloaded from the center's website.
The new subsidy policy on renewable energy issued by the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation in 2079 (available on the center's website) will guide the application review process.
