Agriculture and Forestry University Confirms the Safety of Its Students in Israel
Chitwan, 10 October 2023 - In the wake of growing concerns, the Agriculture and Forestry University of Chitwan has officially confirmed the safety of its 119 students currently in Israel. These students are in the country as a part of the university's study-with-work program.
Swift Communication Amidst Concerns
Reacting promptly to the concerns, University Registrar Professor Dr. Sharda Thapalia issued a statement on Sunday. In the press release, she detailed that "113 students who departed for Israel in 2023, and an additional 6 who left in 2022, are all safe and accounted for."
Ongoing Efforts for Students' Safety
The university, recognizing the severity of the situation, is actively coordinating with various agencies to ensure the safe transfer of its students. "In light of the current circumstances, we have reached out to the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Israeli Embassy in Nepal, and the Nepalese Embassy in Israel. Our primary objective is to gain the necessary assistance to move our students to safer locations," stated the release.
Advisory for Students
While the university works on diplomatic channels, it also urges its students in Israel to stay vigilant. The statement added, "We are in continual communication with our students. We strongly advise them to heed the local security advisories and always prioritize their safety."
