Province No. 1 Ministry of Agriculture has launched the office of Agricultural Knowledge Center Morang (Krishi Gayan Kendra) to provide agricultural services from one place. The Ministry has set up an office in Biratnagar-13 and put the Agricultural Knowledge Center into operation.
The 17 local level farmers of the district will receive services such as crop, horticulture, disease and pest control in agricultural produce, all programs related to agriculture, agricultural subsidies, and coordination of studies for the students of the agricultural campus through the knowledge center.
Jhalak Bahadur Magar, Minister of Agriculture of Province 1, while inaugurating the center, said that the establishment of the knowledge center will help farmers to get services easily and help in increasing agricultural production.
He said that according to the spirit of federalism, the provincial government has set a goal of establishing knowledge centers in all districts of the province and mentioned that the office is committed to providing necessary services and support to farmers involved in the agricultural sector.
Meghnath Timsina, the secretary of the ministry, said that professionally, the ministry's support will be in getting the farmers' products at a reasonable price in the municipalities of the district and in setting up storage facilities.
Chief District Officer of Morang Kashiraj Dahal said that Morang has great importance in agricultural production and said that the establishment of the office will help in agricultural production and import substitution.
In the program, Director of Agricultural Development Office Prakash Dangi, Chief Jitnarayan Thapamar of Budhiganga Rural Municipality, Jitendra Prasad Sah, Chief of Jahda Rural Municipality, and farmer Kopindra Singh expressed their happiness that the establishment of the office in Morang will no longer require farmers to go to Sunsari district knowledge center.
It is said that the center has been established in 11 out of 14 districts of the state, and the office will be established in Tehrathum on October 9 and in Taplejung on October 10.
