Action Against Seven Professors of Tribhuvan University for Intellectual Property Theft:

The Executive Council of Tribhuvan University (TU) has decided to take action against the professors, part-time professors, and associate professors for intellectual property theft.

The council has decided to take action against seven professors, including a professor, a part-time professor, and an associate professor said TU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Dharmakanta Baskota.

The council has decided to take action against them for publishing a copy of a book called "Crystal Structure" by Professor Armeli Vale in France in an international journal under their own name.

The council has taken action against Parashuram Mishra, professor of chemistry, Rohit Kumar Dev, part-time professor, Janak Adhikari, Bimal Kantha, Kalpana Mishra, and Hareram Mishra of Mahendra Morang Multiple Campus of TU, ​​Biratnagar.

The council set up an investigation committee after Professor Armeli complained via email to TU about the theft of his material. An investigation committee formed under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Ram Chandra Basnet of the Department of Chemistry, TU Central Campus had submitted a report that all the seven accused had committed theft. The council has stated that the action was taken as per the recommendation of the investigation committee.

The articles published in various journals of the accused so far have become invalid, they have not been allowed to participate in any study and research for two years, they have not been allowed to become thesis guides and supervisors. Part-time professor Rohit Dev has been restricted from taking classes at any university or campus for two years.

According to the council, the details of the seven have been sent to the campuses and departments across the country. This is the first time that the TU Executive Council has taken action on the charge of forced theft.
