Emotional Folk Song ‘Aama Jelai Ma’ by Youth Entrepreneur and NRN Activist Binay Adhikari Released
Marking the start of the Nepali New Year, youth entrepreneur and Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) activist Binay Adhikari has released a deeply emotional folk duet titled ‘Aama Jelai Ma’ (Mother in Prison). This heartfelt song pays tribute to the unseen sacrifices and emotional struggles of mothers while raising their children.
The song premiered on Adhikari’s official YouTube channel and draws listeners into a poignant story about how mothers silently endure pain, hardship, and, at times, emotional imprisonment to secure a brighter future for their children.
Khem Century, a celebrated folk artist, and the evergreen Devi Gharti lend their soulful voices to the track. Krishna Lamichhane composed the music and directed the project, adding depth and sensitivity to the emotionally charged lyrics.
Binay Adhikari and Krishna Lamichhane co-wrote the lyrics, capturing the profound essence of a mother’s love through vivid, stirring imagery. The music video features compelling performances by Adhikari himself, alongside Sushmita Chaulagai and Rashmi Bhatt, bringing authenticity and emotional resonance to the narrative.
Adhikari is no stranger to the Nepali music scene. His earlier songs, including the widely appreciated ‘UK Basne Maya’ (My Love Living in the UK), have connected with audiences through relatable storytelling and meaningful social themes.
What sets Aama Jelai Ma apart is its ability to strike a deeply personal chord—especially among those living abroad. The song serves as a touching reminder of the emotional sacrifices made by mothers back home, reflecting feelings that often remain unspoken. It’s more than a musical piece—it’s a sincere portrayal of maternal love, strength, and resilience.
With its heartfelt storytelling and emotional depth, Aama Jelai Ma is poised to resonate with listeners in Nepal and around the world. Released at a time when reflection and gratitude feel especially meaningful, it stands as a timeless tribute to motherhood.
