A Discussion between the Minister of Education and the Province Ministers on the option of operating SEE:
Due to the risk of the coronavirus, there has been a discussion between the federal and provincial ministers about how to conduct the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) when the situation is comfortable.
On the initiative of Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Girirajmani Pokharel, a video conference was held with the Minister of Social Development of the seven provinces. If the regular admission of Class 11 is in the month of Shrawan-Bhadra (July-August) then there is no need to panic when there is no immediate SEO test but there are suggestions on how to prepare for the option of conducting it systematically.
According to ministry spokesperson Deepak Sharma, the lockdown in the informal discussion was conducted only a few weeks after conducting the examination or by taking the exam on some mandatory subject matter, adding grade on the basis of internal evaluation of the school's internal assessment on the basis of grades or by considering all subjects based on pre-board examination or internal evaluation conducted by the school.
In some provinces, the minister suggested that the examination could be conducted by sending question papers to the respective schools or redistributing the pre-determined examination center and keeping the center nearest to them so that they could not stay in the camp. The Minister of Social Development of Sudurpaschim Province, however, said that due to the increased risk of coronavirus in his province, the test could not be considered immediately.
Chairperson of the National Examination Board, Prof Dr. Chandramani Poudel, told that the board would take appropriate decision on the examination by observing the suggestions of the ministers and coordinating with the government in view of the present-day situation. He said, “No decision has been made now. Different options have come up. We will study them all. " There are suggestions from various experts and concerned about the option of conducting the exam.
Although all preparations for the operation were completed from last Chaitra 6 to Chaitra 17, adjourned the examination on the Chaitra 5th evening due to the virus risk. Four lakh 82 thousand 219 students had applied for the exam and 1,995 exam centers were set up.
