The university reports that approximately 40,000 students are currently studying in 68 different disciplines across its campuses throughout the country. Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to address the convocation ceremony.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli emphasized that since Nepal is a source of knowledge, philosophy, yoga, and research, graduates should work honestly for the country.
Addressing Pokhara University's 20th convocation ceremony in Dhungepatan, Kaski, on Thursday, Prime Minister Oli stated that students should utilize their knowledge for positive societal work with confidence and honesty.
"Success can only be achieved through honesty. Success achieved through dishonesty is not beneficial for society. Even if you have studied well, using that knowledge for negative activities like theft, fraud, and crimes cannot be considered a success," Chancellor Oli said, "You must be useful for society and the country. If you work only for yourself, you become selfish. Do something for the country and society. May you have pride in civil supremacy."
He urged students not to harbor feelings of inferiority for being from a small country, reiterating that no country's sovereignty is big or small.
"You cannot become a mahout by running away at the sight of an elephant. Try to become a mahout by training the elephant. Be brave but not reckless," Prime Minister Oli said. We have fertile land. It can be used for transformative development. Let the university engage in this work. The government stands with the university."
Chancellor Oli conferred degrees at the ceremony to seven thousand eight hundred and 72 students from various faculties and levels. He also presented the Chancellor's Medal to the most outstanding student.
