17 Candidates Applied for Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University
According to the Vice Chancellor Selection Committee, 17 candidates have applied for the post of Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University.
The names of the applicants have not been made public. According to the selection committee, a shortlist of 10 out of the 17 will be made public. After that, 10 people will be interviewed. “After the interview, we will recommend the names of three people,” said former Vice-Chancellor Suresh Raj Sharma, coordinator of the selection committee.
An open call for applications for the post of Vice Chancellor was issued on 18 Poush, 2081. Medical doctors are unhappy that they were unable to apply for the position. They sought an interim order from the Supreme Court demanding the cancellation of the procedure prepared by the Vice-Chancellor Selection Committee.
However, on Sunday, 28 Poush, 2081, the doctors could not apply for the post of Vice Chancellor after the court ruled that an interim order would not be issued. The doctors demanded that MDs, MSS, and MDSs be allowed to apply for MDS in medicine.
As the four-year term of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa is about to end in 2081, Magh has selected a new Vice-Chancellor.
