12-Year-Old Rapper Hosts Fundraiser in Amsterdam for Two Nepal Children’s Homes
Dharan Rimal, a 12-year-old Dutch/Nepali rapper, and his younger sister, Avana, have launched a fundraising campaign and benefit concert in Amsterdam to help two children’s homes in Nepal. Dharan and Avana have a personal connection to NCO Bal Mandir, one of the beneficiary homes, as their father lived there as a child.
Fundraising Campaign Details:
- The final concert will take place on April 10, 2023, in collaboration with the City of Wesopa theater in Weesp.
- Smaller events will be held leading up to the final concert, including pop-up shows in Weesp and Amsterdam.
- Attendees at the pop-up shows can donate to the cause, purchase T-shirts, make reservations for the final concert, and learn about the needs of children in Nepal.
- All proceeds from ticket sales, lottery, and auction will go to NCO Bal Mandir and Kopila Valley Children's Home, a program of BlinkNow.
- Dharan and Avana will travel to Nepal to personally donate the funds raised, and Dharan will perform live for the children in NCO Bal Mandir.
Beneficiaries of the Fundraising Campaign:
- NCO Bal Mandir and Kopila Valley Children's Home, both located in Nepal, are the beneficiaries of the fundraising campaign.
- NCO Bal Mandir is in need of clothes, school supplies, toys, and more.
- BlinkNow's Kopila Valley Children's Home has similar day-to-day needs, as well as some larger projects planned to improve the lives of children in rural Kopila Valley.

- The campaign aims to address the daily needs of the homes, including clothes, school supplies, and toys, as well as larger projects planned to improve the lives of children in rural Kopila Valley.
- Dharan and Avana hope to inspire others to help in their fundraising campaign and raise awareness of the needs of children's homes in Nepal.
Significance of the Fundraising Campaign:
- Children's homes in Nepal depend on donations, and the country is too poor to bear all the costs.
- The campaign is also supporting BlinkNow, an organization known for Maggie Doyne, CNN Hero of the Year, who has been featured in the New York Times and on Floortje Dessing's travel program.
- Dharan and Avana's commitment to generosity and community is an inspiration, and their efforts are a reminder that everyone can make a positive difference in the world, no matter their age.
