Overview
Soru Rural Municipality, Mugu (सोरु गाउँपालिका, मुगु) was established in 2017 (2074 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Soru Gaunpalika is located in Jima, Mugu district, Karnali Province of Nepal. The Rural Municipality is known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language. Soru Rural Municipality is surrounded by Chhayanath Rara Municipality on the East, Humla districts on the West and North Part and Khatyad Rural Municipality on the South.
The total area of the Soru Rural Municipality is 365.8 km2 (141.24 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 12,238 1individual. The density of this rural municipality is 33/km2 (87/sq mi). This rural municipality is divided into 11 wards.
Nadharpu, Bhiyi, Photu, Jima, Dhainakot, and Some part of RaraVillage development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Soru Gaunpalika. This rural Municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017.
