Overview
Shivalaya Rural Municipality, Jajarkot (शिवालय गाउँपालिका, जाजरकोट) was established in 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Shivalaya Gaupalika is located in Sima, Jajarkot district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Shivalaya is a rural municipality and also known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language.
Shivalaya Rural Municipality is surrounded by Chhedagad Municipality on the East, Surkhet and Dailekh districts on the West, Barekot Chhedagad Municipality on the North and Surkhet district on the South.
The total area of the Shivalaya Rural Municipality is 134.26 km2 (51.84 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 15,269 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 110/km2 (290/sq mi). This rural municipality is divided into 9 wards. The elevation of this rural municipality is 1560 meters (5118.11 feet) altitude from sea level.
Sima, Thala Raikar and Junga Thapachaur committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Shibalaya Gaunpalika. This rural Municipality came into existence on 10 March, 2017.
