Overview
Palungtar Municipality (पालुङटार नगरपालिका, गोरखा) was established in 2014 (2071 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of this Nagarpalika is located in Thatipokhari, Gorkha district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Palungtar is an urban municipality and also known as Nagarpalika in the Nepali Language.
Palungtar Municipality is surrounded by Gorkha Municipality and Siranchok Rural Municipality on the East, Tanahun District on the West, Siranchok Rural Municipality on the North and Gorkha Municipality and Tanahun District on the South.
The total area of this Municipality is 158.62 km2 and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 38,244 (16667 Male and 21577 Female) individual living in 9,929 individual households. The density of this municipality is 241.2/km2. This municipality is divided into 10 wards. The elevation of this municipality is 228 to 8163 meters altitude from sea level.
Village Development Committees Chyangli, Aanppipal, Dhuwakot, Gaikhur, Khoplang, Mirkot and Palumtar Village Development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Palungtar Municipality. This urban Municipality came into existence in 2014 (2071 BS).
