Requirements for Skill Testing

To participate in NSTB's skill tests, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Nepalese Citizenship Card
  • Photographs: Four passport-sized photos and one auto-sized photo.
  • Age Requirement: 16 years or older.
  • Additional Eligibility: Specific requirements based on the level of the skill test.

Skill Test Levels and Requirements

Elementary Level:

  • Completion of 140 hours of vocational training in the relevant occupation or trade.

Level 1:

  • Literate individuals with at least one year of work experience in the relevant trade.
  • Completion of a one-month vocational training program (160 hours).
  • Combination of vocational training and six months of relevant work experience.

Level 2:

  • Literate individuals with at least three years of relevant work experience.
  • Completion of one year of training, with a minimum of 600 hours of theory and 800 hours of practical instruction.
  • One year's work experience post-Level 1 certification in the relevant trade.

Level 3:

  • Literate individuals with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
  • Two years of work experience following one year of relevant training.
  • One year of work experience after passing the Level 2 skill test in the relevant trade.

Level 4 (Ophthalmic Assistant):

  • Completion of Level 3 with three years of experience and one year of additional training.
  • Certificate level in Health Science (Ophthalmology) or equivalent with three years of experience and one year of training.
