Overview
Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA) was established in 2019 as a National Level Infrastructure Development Bank with the focused objective of accelerating the development of infrastructure of Nepal. NIFRA aims to bridge the infrastructure financing gap by raising resources from national and international market including blended financing. Nepal Infrastructure Bank is centrally located in Krishna Tower, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.
Infrastructure development remains an essential enabler for all Least Developed Countries including Nepal. Developing infrastructure across all sectors requires building a wide-ranging ecosystem, including policy-makers, planning institutions, financing mechanisms and platforms, research and development and so on.
In order to fast-track the infrastructure development and connection the financing gap in infrastructure and its allied sectors in nation, Nepal Infrastructure Bank is established by a team of leading private sector entrepreneurs, banks and financial institutions (BFIs), life and non-life insurance companies and other various private sector entities in joint participation with the Government of Nepal (GoN). NIFRA aims to work across the infrastructure background to act as a catalyst for building long-term and sustainable infrastructure-led economic growth in the nation.
