Overview
National Examinations Board (NEB) ( Nepali: राष्ट्रिय परीक्षा बोर्ड / Rastriya Pariksha Board) was established in 2016 AD (2073) as an autonomous institute. The working areas related to school affiliation, scholarship, and school operation, which are being carried out by the Higher Secondary Education Council, have been determined at the local level and the work related to curriculum development, development and equivalence assessment has been determined by the curriculum development center. The functions related to the examination of Class 10 (SEE) and the examinations of Class 11 and 12 (SLCE) are allied within the jurisdiction of the National Examination Board. In addition, the obligation to conduct Class 10 exams at the provincial level and even to guide the overall school education exam is contained within the perimeter of the National Examination Board.
As per the provisions of the Act, the main function of the National Examination Board established for conducting, managing, and upgrading the examination of school education is focused on the development of the examination system.
The National Examination Board is defined in the Education Act as an autonomous and organized body of undivided succession. It has a distinct imprint for all the functions of the Board. All the work being carried out by the Examination Control Office of the Higher Secondary Education Council is being conducted by the National Board. The movable/immovable property and liability in the name of the Higher Secondary Education Council have been transferred to the Board.

Seven provincial offices of the National Examination Board and branch offices in 4 districts are working in coordination with the District Education Development and Coordination Unit to streamline the service. For obtaining the educational certificates (transcript, migration, and provisional) provided by the National Examination Board (NEB).
