Overview
Nalgad Municipality, Jajarkot (नलगाड नगरपालिका, जाजरकोट) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Nalgad Nagarpalika is located in Khalanga, Jajarkot district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Nalgad is an urban municipality and also known as Nagarpalika in the Nepali Language. Nalgaad Municipality is surrounded by East Rukum district on the East, Kuse Rural Municipality on the West, Barekot Rural Municipality and Dolpa district on the North and Bheri Municipality on the South.
The total area of the Nalgad Municipality is 387.44 km2 (149.59 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 25,597 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 66/km2 (170/sq mi). This rural municipality is divided into 13 wards. The elevation of this rural municipality is 1364 meters (4475.07 feet) from the Sea level.
Khagenkot, Ragda, Dandagaun, Lahai, and Bhagawati Tol Village development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Nalgad Nagarpalika. This urban Municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017.
