Overview
Kaligandaki Rural Municipality (कालिगण्डकी गाउँपालिका, स्याङ्जा) was established in 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Kaligandaki Gaupalika is located in Birgha, Syangja, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Kaligandaki is a rural municipality and also known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language.
Kaligandaki Rural Municipality is surrounded by Galyang Municipality on the East, Tansen Municipality Glumi on the West, Galyang Municipality, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality Gulmi and Satyawati Rural Municipality Gulmi on the North and Bagnaskali Rural Municipality and Tansen Municipality on the South.
The total area of the Kaligandaki Rural Municipality is 73.51 km2 (28.38 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 21728 individuals. The density of this rural municipality is 300/km2 (770/sq mi). This rural municipality is divided into 7 wards.
Chandibhanjyang, Alamdevi, Birgha Archale, and Shreekrishna Gandaki Village Development Committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Kaligandaki Rural Municipality. This rural Municipality came into existence on 12 March 2017.
