Gurans Rural Municipality (गुराँस गाउँपालिका) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Gurans Gaunpalika is located in Baraha, Dailekh district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Rural Municipality is known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language.

Gurans Gaunpalika is surrounded by Surkhet District on the East, Achham district on the West, Dullu Municipality and Bhagawatimai Rural Municipality on the North and Surkhet district on the South.

The total area of the Gurans Rural Municipality is 164.79 square kilometers (63.63 sq mi) and the total population of the rural municipality according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 22,033 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 164.79 km2 (63.63 sq mi)This Rural municipality is divided into 8 wards.

Seri Goganpani, Piladi, Khadkawada, Baraha, and Lalikanda Village development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Gurans Gaunpalika, This rural municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS), fulfilling the requirement of the Constitution of Nepal 2015. Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration replaced all old VDCs and Municipalities into 753 new local level bodies.

The economy of Gurans Gaunpalika typically depends upon agro-business, forest, herbs, tourism, and natural resources.
