Overview
Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (GLBBS) (Nepali: गुँरास लघुवित्त वित्तिय संस्था लिमिटेड) was established in 2073 BS (2016 AD) as a rising microfinance institution in the eastern region of Nepal. GLBBS is providing access to finance to more than 15,000 poor, landless, discarded and marginalized members in 10 districts (Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Morang, Sunsari, Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Terhathum, Shankhuwasabha, and Okhaldhunga) through 26 branches across province No. 1. It received microfinance (Laghubitta) banking license from the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), Central bank of Nepal in 2073 Kartik 2 and the company registration office in 2073 Jetha 2.
Gurans Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited provides standard, reliable and sustainable financial services to the poor and marginalized members. It strives to promote saving, encourages income generation, self-employment, supports agriculture and micro-enterprises development, social awareness and provides social security. Gurans started providing financial services with paid-up capital of NRs 2 Crore.
Now the amount has increased to NRs 7.75 crore by May 2019. GLBBS is lead by 24 core promoter shareholders along with general public shareholders after IPO.
