Overview
According to the Constitution of Nepal (2072 BS), the report submitted to the Government of Nepal by the High-Level Commission for the Restructuring of Local Levels of the Government of Nepal has been revised and implemented by the Government of Nepal. There are 50 Savik VDCs in the existing Sindhuli district. Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality (घ्याङलेख गाउँपालिका, सिन्धुली) has been formed by adjusting former VDC in Haru, Haru Amale, Bastipur, Tamajor, Netrakali, and Shanteshwari VDCs.

According to the intellectuals here, the name of this rural municipality is Ghyanglekh from Ghyangle Dando, which is located above Nanga Danda, passing through Satdobato under ward no. 2. In the Tamang language, 'Ghyang' means a monastery, and 'Lekh' means a high hill. The historical significance of this place is also reflected in the fact that a large fair has been held on this Ghyanglekh hill since time immemorial on the day of Maghe Sankranti (according to some intellectuals on the day of Baishakh Sankranti) and people from around this region come in large numbers to attend the fair. Even though the practice of holding fairs in this place has disappeared at present, the political leaders here have insisted on naming this rural municipality with the aim of reviving the historical significance of this place.
