Overview
Gandaki Rural Municipality (गण्डकी गाउँपालिका, गोरखा) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of this Gaupalika is located in Bhumlichwok, Gorkha district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Gandaki is a rural municipality and also known as Gaupalika in the Nepali Language.
The total area of this Gaunpalika is 123.86 square km. There are various ethnic communities living in this village, which has a mixed settlement of major ethnic communities like Brahman, Newar, Magar, Gurung, Chepang, Chhetri and Sarki. Even though the people of different cultures, caste, languages, and religions are in this village, ethnicity, linguistic varieties, and religious differences, there is no negative variation in social stability and peaceful environment. According to local residents, different people of different species are proof of the nature of the tradition of digestion.
Gorkha district is one of the 6 important districts of Gandhi Zone under the Western Development Area Nepal. The Gorkha district has its own historical significance in the central part of Nepal. Gandaki Gaunpalika has been formed by adjusting the Village Development Committee of Gorkha district, to accommodate Phujel, Dwarbung, Bhumliachok, Ghyalchok, Tanglichok, and Makaising VDCs. This Rural Municipality came into existence in 2017 (2073 BS).
