Overview
Galyang Municipality (गल्याङ नगरपालिका, स्याङजा) was established in 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Galyang Nagarpalika is located in Jagatradevi, Syangja Gandaki Province of Nepal. Galyang is an urban municipality and also known as Nagarpalika in the Nepali Language. It is an important area of natural and tourism approach.
Galyang Municipality is surrounded by Chapakot Municipality and Waling Municipality on the East, Gulmi district on the West, Parbat district on the North and Palpa district on the South.
The total area of the Galyang Municipality is 122.69 km2 (47.37 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 36,967 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 300/km2 (780/sq. mi). This municipality is divided into 11 wards. The elevation of this rural municipality is 869 meters (2851 feet) altitude from sea level.
Tulsibhanjyang, Nibuwakharka, Malunga, Jagatradevi, (1-6,9) Wards of Pakwadi, Pindikhola, (1-4,7-9) Wards of Pelakot and (1,6-9) Wards of Tindobate Village Development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Galyang Municipality. This urban Municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017.
