Overview
Dhulikhel Municipality (धुलिखेल नगरपालिका, काभ्रेपलान्चोक) is located 30 km east of the capital, is covered by hilly terrain, and is inhabited by a mixed tribe with a majority of Newar community. Despite the hilly terrain, drinking water, electricity, and road facilities are available in almost all the wards. Due to the increasing air pollution in the Kathmandu Valley, the pressure of settlement has been increasing within the last few years.
Dhulikhel Municipality has been developing as a tourist city from the very beginning. Currently, the state-of-the-art Dhulikhel Community Hospital is in operation at Danda, Mainevir, Ward No. 5 of the municipality. It has been providing healthcare to thousands of locals and foreigners. Similarly, Kathmandu University of international standard is operating in Ward No. 4 Bhyandol of this municipality.
Biogas has also been produced as a sample from Nepal's drinking water program and sewage treatment plant. As there is drinking water, electricity, and other various facilities in this municipality, various hotels are also in operation. Due to the Arani (Kodari) highway passing through the center of the city, this city has become the center of Tibetan trade.
