Overview

Dhorpatan Municipality (ढोरपाटन नगरपालिका) was established in 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Dhorpatan Nagarpalika is located in Burtibang, Baglung, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Dhorpatan is an urban municipality and also known as Nagarpalika in the Nepali Language.

Dhorpatan Municipality is surrounded by Tamankhola Rural Municipality and Myagdi district on the East, Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, and Nisikhola Rural Municipality on the West, Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve on the North and Badigad and Nisikhola Rural Municipality on the South.

The total area of the Dhorpatan Municipality is 222.85 km2 (86 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 26,215 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 117.60/km2 (304.7/sq mi). This rural municipality is divided into 9 wards. The elevation of this rural municipality is 1020 meters (3350 feet) altitude from sea level.
Burtibang, Khunga, Adhikarichowk, and Bobang Village Development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Dhorpatan Municipality. This urban Municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017.
