Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) - Dugdha Bikash Sansthan (Nepali: दुग्ध विकास संस्थान) : The Dairy Development Board, which is under the Government of Nepal Agriculture Department, found that in 2009 BS, the establishment of 1/1 milk collection center at Tusal, Kavrepalanchok, and Kharipati, Bhaktapur, as well as a Yak Cheese Center in Langtang, Rasuwa, began the history of dairy development. Thereafter, milk processing was started by establishing a dairy farm in Bhotahiti, Kathmandu in 2010/2011 BS.

In 2013 BS, the establishment of one more Yak Cheese Center at Thodung, Ramechhap, as well as the milk processing capacity of Bhotahiti was very low, with a 2013 BS 500 liter per hour milk processing machine installed and a Central Dairy at Lanchaur (currently Dairy Development Center, Central Office). Yes. In 2017 BS, 1 more Yak Cheese Center was established in Solukhumbu.

In 2026 BS, the milk development ward was referred to 2 milk collection centers and 3 yak cheese center as well as to the dairy development institute located in Lanchaur. Shortly after this, there are three more Yak Cheese Centers being established in 2027 BS, Gosikund, Rasuwa, Chordung in 2028 BS, Dolakha and 2030 BS in Cama, Ramechhap.

In order to make organized dairy business more effective, a safe market for milk produced by the farmers of rural areas and to supply high quality processed milk and other dairy products to the consumers of urban areas has been converted into Dairy Development Center (DDC) in 2026 BS under the Institute Act 2021.

Since the beginning of the institute, milk processing, and sales distribution work have been established only in the Valley and some Yak cheese production centers are in operation in the Himalayan region.
