Overview
Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality (छत्रेश्वरी गाउँपालिका) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Chhatreshwari Gaunpalika is located in Bhotechaur, Salyan district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Rural Municipality is known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language.
According to the 2011 census, the total population of the Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality is 21452 (Female 11690 and 9762 Male). It is surrounded by Sharada Municipality in the west, Bagchaur Municipality in the north, Rolpa district in the east and Triveni Rural Municipality and Kapurkot Rural Municipality Rural Municipality in the south. The total area of this Gaupalika is 150.69 square kilometers.
Damachaur, Korbang Jhimche, Chhayachhetra, Lekhpokhara Village Development Committee (VDCs) were incorporated into Chhatreshwari Gaupalika. This rural municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS), fulfilling the requirement of the Constitution of Nepal 2015 (2072 BS). Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration replaced all old VDCs and Municipalities into 753 new local level bodies.
