Overview
Chharka Tangsong Rural Municipality (छार्का ताङसोङ गाउँपालिका) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government (self-government) of Nepal. The headquarters of Chharka Tangsong Gaunpalika (Rural Municipality) is located in Chharka, Dolpa District, Karnali Province of Nepal. The total area of the Chharka Tangsong Rural Municipality is 345.57 square kilometers and the total population of this rural municipality as of 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 1451 individuals and density is 4.2/km2 (11/sq mi). This Rural municipality is divided into total 6 wards.
Chharka Tangsong was incorporated on 10 March 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS) fulfilling the requirement of the Constitution of Nepal 2015 (2072 BS). Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA) replaced all old VDCs and Municipalities into 753 new local level bodies. Chharka and Mukot Village development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form this Gaunpalika.
Chharka Tangsong Rural municipality is surrounded by Mustang district on the East, Kaike Rural Municipality on the west, Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality, and China on the North and Myagdi district on the South.
