Overview
Chandragiri Municipality (Nagarpalika - चन्द्रागिरी नगरपालिका) is the largest municipality in Bagmati Province, Kathmandu District of Nepal. Chandragiri municipality has been declared in 25 wards comprising 11 village development committees including Thankot, Dahchok, Naikap, Naya Bhanjyang, Bandbhanjyang, Balambu, Mahadevsthan, Tinthana, Satungal, Matatirtha, Machhegaun, and Naikap Purano Bhanjyang in the southwestern part of Kathmandu district.
According to the Constitution of Nepal, after the restructuring of the State Restructuring Commission, the decision of the Government of Nepal, Council of Ministers regarding the local level restructuring of 2073 Falgun 22 was published in the Gazette on Falgun 27.
The center of Chandragiri municipality is in Balambu.
