Bagchaur Municipality, Salyan (बागचौर नगरपालिका, सल्यान) was established in 2015 (2072 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Bagchaur Nagarpalika is located in Bagchaur, Salyan district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Bagchaur is a municipality and also known as Nagarpalika in the Nepali Language.

Bagchaur municipality, located in the Karnali region of Nepal, is considered to be an important municipality of natural and religious and geographical structure and agriculture sector. This municipality is spread from 28° 26 'to 28° 31' north latitude and 82° 14 'to 82° 23' east longitude. The total area of Baghchaur municipality is 163.14 square kilometers (16,313 hectares); which has different potential for natural and geographical structure. According to the census of 2068, the total population of Baghchaur Municipalities is 16,526 (48.44%) male and 17,5 9 (51.56%) female from 34,118. Major markets in Baghchaur municipality include parts of Mokkhola, Kalakhet, Tharmare, Bagchaur, Kharibot, Rarechaur, Bangelakhuri, Pedikhola, Simkhola, Bafukol Dobhanbazar, Bagarbazar, Ratamata, Tattebazar, Kotmaula, Shandenshbazar, Khorbare, Pipalneta, Chaurpani, Ratapokhara etc.

There is a promotional health center and five health professionals within Bagchaur Municipalities. There is one Campus, 10 Secondary School, 15 Basic School, and 44 Primary Schools. This municipality has 93% literacy. Bagchaur Municipality is surrounded by Sukidaha Rural Municipality Rolpa, on the East, Kumakhmalika Rural Municipality on the West, Darma Rural Municipality on the North and Chhatreshwori Rural Municipality

The total area of the Bagchaur Municipality is 163.14 km2 (62.99 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 30,039 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 210/km2 (540/sq mi) and elevation is 1,320 m (4,330 ft) from sea level. This urban municipality is divided into 12 wards.

Tharmare, Sibaratha, Kotbara, Kotmala and Pipal Neta Village Development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Bagchaur Nagarpalika. This Municipality came into existence on 19 September 2015.
