Tarakhola Rural Municipality (ताराखोला गाँउपालिका, बाग्लुङ) was established in 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Tarakhola Gaupalika is located in Argal, Baglung, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Tarakhola is a rural municipality and also known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language.

Tarakhola Rural Municipality is surrounded by Kathekhola Rural Municipality on the East, Dhorpatan Municipality, Galkot Municipality and Badigad Rural Municipality on the West, Myagdi district on the North and and Galkot Municipality on the South.

The total area of the Tarakhola Rural Municipality is 129.53 km2 (50 sq mi) and the total population of the municipality is according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 12,009 individual. The density of this rural municipality is 92.7/km2 (240.1/sq mi). This rural municipality is divided into 5 wards. The elevation of this rural municipality is 2068 meters (6785 feet) altitude from sea level.

Amarbhumi, Argal, Hila and Tara village development committees (VDCs) were incorporated to form Tarakhola Rural Municipality. This rural Municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017.
