Overview
Kalimati Rural Municipality (कालिमाटी गाउँपालिका) was established in 2017 (2073 BS) as a local government of Nepal. The headquarters of the Kalimati Gaunpalika is located in Rampur, Salyan district, Karnali Province of Nepal. The Rural Municipality is known as Gaunpalika in the Nepali Language.
This rural municipality is situated on 80 degrees 20 minutes to 83 degrees 28 minutes East Longitude and 27 degrees 31 minutes to 27 degrees 37 minutes 30 seconds north latitude. It is surrounded by the Tribeni Rural Municipality on the east, Bardiya district on the west, Bangad Kupinde Municipality and Sharada Municipality and Surkhet district on the north and Banke district on the south.
The total area of the Kalimati Rural Municipality is 500.72 km2 and the total population of the rural municipality according to 2011 (2068 BS) Nepal census is 23,005 (11,300 Males and 11,705 Females) individual. The density of this rural municipality is 45.95/km².
This rural municipality came into existence on 10 March 2017 (Falgun 27, 2073 BS), fulfilling the requirement of the Constitution of Nepal 2015 (2072 BS). Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration replaced all old VDCs and Municipalities into 753 new local level bodies.
