Urgent Notice Regarding the Chance Exam Form Submission for Time-Barred MA Semester Students

As per the decision of the Academic Council of Tribhuvan University, a one-time chance exam will be conducted for students enrolled in various Master's (MA) level academic programs under the semester system operated by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

This exam applies only to students admitted between the 2007 batch and the 2018 batch who participated in the regular or partial semester exams but failed to pass all required subjects within the maximum time limit set by Chapter 3, Clause 5 (Ka)(2) of the Semester System Operational Regulations, 2074.

Interested students must physically visit their respective departments/campuses/colleges to submit the Chance Exam form. Online submission is not available. This notice has been published to inform all concerned.

1) Regarding Exam Form Submission:

(a) The student must be physically present and fill the exam form under the supervision of the department/campus/college. The form must clearly mention the admission batch, the program of study, subject names, and subject codes.

(b) A copy of the mark sheet from the previous exam(s) must be attached with the form.

(c) Subjects such as practical exams, fieldwork, and thesis (if applicable as per the syllabus) must be included in the form.

(d) The name and registration number must match exactly as per Tribhuvan University records.

2) Points to be followed by Departments/Campuses/Colleges:

(a) Exam forms must be filled separately for each semester and submitted in individual files. Each file must include the student's name and subject details.

(b) A single payment covering all students must be deposited into the Faculty's Nepal Bank account. The original bank voucher must be submitted along with the exam forms within the given deadline.

(c) Institutions must verify and certify all submitted forms. Subjects and subject codes must match with Tribhuvan University rules and the relevant curriculum at the time. If errors result in exam cancellation or withholding of transcripts, the respective student or institution will be responsible.

Key Dates and Fees:

Form Submission Period: From Chaitra 11, 2081 to Baisakh 5, 2082 (Extended deadline with double fee: up to Baisakh 10, 2082)

Exam Fee: NPR 1,500 per semester per student. The amount must be deposited by the college into the Faculty’s account at Nepal Bank within 7 days after the form submission deadline, and submitted along with the forms.

Other Information:

  • This chance exam is strictly for students whose time limit has expired. Other students, including those wishing for grade improvement, are not eligible to apply.

  • The exam center will be located in Kathmandu and will be announced later.

  • The exam schedule will be published later.

  • Exam forms must be downloaded from the Faculty’s website: www.tufohss.edu.np and printed for submission.
