Technical Education and Vocational Training Council (CTEVT), National Skills Testing Committee (NSTB) Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, Important Notice Regarding Skill Test Application.

Applications are invited for the skill test based on the recognition of prior learning as per the National Vocational Skills Certificate approved by the National Skills Testing Committee. This is open to Nepali citizens with professional skills/competencies, including those who are self-employed, experienced, or have returned from foreign employment, to participate in the skill test at the regular concession fee rate.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Applicants:

For Level 1:

  • Must have at least 1 year of work experience in the relevant profession,
    or
  • Must have work experience with training of at least 6 months in the relevant profession.

For Level 2:

  • Must have at least 3 years of work experience in the relevant profession,
    or
  • Must have passed the skill test for Level 1 in the relevant profession and have 1 year of work experience in the relevant profession.

Conditions to be Followed by Participants When Filling Out the Skill Test Application Form:

  1. This notice and application form can be downloaded from the website of the National Skill Testing Board (NSTB) at www.nstb.org.np or obtained from the designated centers.

  2. The application form must be submitted to the designated center by the date 2081/05/09. If the last day for submission falls on a holiday, the form can be submitted the following day.

  3. The application form must be accompanied by two recent passport-sized photos of the same type, a citizenship certificate, and a certificate of training or experience. In the case of a training certificate, only a copy issued by an affiliated institution of CTEVT, its partners, or institutions recognized by the Government of Nepal, with at least one year old certificate, will be accepted. For experience, only a certified copy of a letter or certificate, clearly stating the duration of work in the relevant profession/occupation by the Government of Nepal, governmental or semi-governmental institution, or private employers registered with VAT or PAN number, will be accepted. Only experience after the age of 16 will be valid.

  4. The privileged categories include women, Dalits, indigenous groups, persons with disabilities, and other categories designated by the Government of Nepal. For categories other than women, certified documents from the concerned authority must be submitted.

  5. Individuals returning from foreign employment must submit a copy of their experience in the profession for which the skill test is being applied for (translated into English if in another language), along with a copy of their passport and visa when filling out the application form.

  6. Applications that are incomplete, not registered within the stipulated time, or that do not meet the requirements, will be automatically canceled.

  7. If the number of approved applications for a particular profession is less than three, the skill test for that profession will not be conducted.

  8. The date, time, and location of the skill test will also be communicated via SMS. Participants must collect their admission card in person from the center where the application form was submitted, the day before the skill test. The skill test may begin the day after the contact date.

  9. Candidates must bring their own hand tools required for the relevant profession/occupation. Participants in the skill test for beautician and barber occupations must also bring their own testing materials and model. Additionally, personal health safety standards must be strictly followed.

  10. Candidates who have participated in the skill test before must mandatorily mention the registration number from their previous skill test and mark the box labeled "re-test" on the application form.

  11. Applicants who have passed Level 1 in the relevant profession must submit their skill certificate along with a work experience letter when applying for Level 2. Applicants are allowed to apply for only one level or profession at a time.

  12. The application collection center must verify that all required documents are complete when collecting the application. Since the online system will close five days after the last date for form submission, the applications must be entered into the online system within that period. After final verification by the National Skill Testing Board, the collection center must deposit the remaining amount, after deducting NPR 70 per form for entry, into the account of the National Skill Testing Board at Rastriya Banijya Bank, account number 1730100000183001, and upload the scanned copy of the original voucher.

  13. The skill tests for the professions mentioned in this notice will be conducted at certified or designated skill testing centers within the respective provinces.

  14. Successful candidates can obtain their skill certificate and skill identity card by paying NPR 150.
