Three Hundred youth in the Youth Parliament School:
The Youth Parliament School has been set up to impart training to the youth on the law-making process, parliamentary practice, youth participation in good governance, and other issues.
More than 300 youths from the three states will participate in the six-day program. Youths from Karnali Pradesh, Sudurpaschim Pradesh, and Province 2 are participating in the Youth Parliament School Program organized by the Association of Youth Organizations Nepal (AYON).
Leaders of various political parties, parliamentarians, legal experts, human rights activists, and subject matter experts will impart training in the program, which will start on Monday, said Jagdish Air, chairman of AYON. The program, run with the support of the Parliamentary Assistance Program (PSP) Nepal under the UNDP, provides information to the youth about the law-making process as well as parliamentary and political information, said AYON.
The training is attended by youths in the age group of 18 to 35 years. The AYON has stated that it will help the best youth in the program to do policy advocacy through a certain fund.
AYON has already provided training to 1,000 youths across the country under the Model Parliament Program. The model parliament program started by AYON is now being run by the government.
