The British College wins 3rd British Cup 2022 Inter College Futsal Tournament

On the 4th and 5th of August, The British College hosted the “3rd British Cup 2022 Inter College Futsal Tournament” at the Dhuku Futsal Grounds, Baluwatar, Kathmandu.

The British College Blue team beat Apex College in the finals of the 3rd British Cup 2022 after scoring 7 consecutive penalties after a 1-1 final score. TBC took the victory, winning a first place cash prize of one Lakh while runner-up Apex College won a second place cash prize of 50,000. 

Arjun Shrestha (Captain) and Nowa Hang Limbu from the British College were judged as the best players and best goalkeepers of the tournament. They also won individual cash prizes of 10,000 each. Winning Captain Arjun said he was "proud of the team's performance" and would like to "thank the crowd for keeping us motivated throughout the tournament."

Mahendra Kandel, Managing Director of The British College, attended the final and said of the result, "We are very proud of all of our students who not only took part and won the match, but who also helped to organise it, volunteered at the event, and came along to support their friends. It was a great reflection of everything we stand for here at TBC". 

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the event was a great success and it was all made possible through the event sponsors - which included the title sponsor, British American Educare; airlines partner, Turkish Airlines; travel partner, Swa Travels & Holidays; cinema partner, QFX; Hospitality partner, Mojo Boutique Hotel; signage partner, Bright LED, supporting partner Kata Khelne and medical partner “Vayodha Hospital”. 

In total 13 different Colleges took part in the tournament. Joining TBC were Little Angels, Softwarica College of IT and E-commerce, Prime College, Apex College, IIMS College, Silver Mountain College, PCPS College, Ace International, Campion Academy, Thames College, KUSOM, and the British Professional College. 

Head of Marketing at The British College, Amardeep Mandal, played at the event along with his team of staff and said of the occasion, “I would like to thank everyone who took part and everyone who made it possible." He also thanked all the teams for participating and keeping everyone entertained throughout the tournament. Special thanks to Himal Karki and Sudip Bhattarai, for organising the tournament successfully. We look forward to coming back next year bigger and better than ever and are already preparing for the 4th British Cup in 2023.
