Swasthani Brata Begins from Magh 15:

Swasthani Brata and Maghsnan, which is conducted for one month every year from Poush Shukla Purnima to Magh Shukla Purnima, is being started from Thursday.

On the day of Poush Shukla Chaturdashi, it begins by cutting the nails of the hands and feet, taking a bath, and wearing clean clothes. After bathing in the morning, Mahadev is worshiped at noon. There is a tradition of listening to the story of Swasthani Vrat, a dialogue between Kumar Agastya of Magh Mahatmya under the Kedar section of the Skanda Purana in the evening.

By fasting with this method, on the day of Magh Shukla Purnima, 108 Janai, 108 betel nuts, 108 betel leaves, 108 flowers, 108 Rotis, 108 Akshatas, various kinds of fruits, incense, lamps, offerings, shrikhand, red sandalwood, vermilion, clothes, offerings, offerings Bhagwati is given Argha.

One hundred roti Bratalu eats fruit by herself and stays awake at night. During the Jagram, the greatness of the Goddess is heard. There is a religious belief that doing so fulfills Vratalu's aspirations. Swasthani literally means the goddess of the place where she lives. Worshiping the goddess of the place where you live is Swasthani Puja. Since the time after Uttarayan is suitable for meditation yoga practice, it is also believed that the practice of Swasthana, i.e. contact with one's soul, is called Swasthani. For this, the time from Poush Shukla Purnima to Magh Shukla Purnima is considered good.

Skanda Purana mentions a goddess of golden complexion, three-eyed, happy posture, sitting on a lotus and a throne, with four arms.

On this occasion, Madhav Narayan's fair will be held for one month at Shalindi, Sankhus, 18 km in the northeastern part of the valley. The fair, which has been going on since ancient times, will not have much activity this year due to Corona.
