Srijana Deaf Residential Secondary School Celebrates 35th Anniversary and Parents Day

On February 13, 2023, Srijana Deaf Residential Secondary School, located in Pokhara-26, celebrated its 35th anniversary, Parents' Day, and a prize distribution ceremony. Several notable figures were present at the ceremony, including Narendra Thapa, President of Pokhara 26, Ailal Shahi, President of Gandaki Deaf Association, Krishan Thapa, President of Creation Development Center, Vishwaraj Acharya, Senior Officer of Pokhara Metropolitan City Education Division, Ramesh Bhattarai, Headmaster of Bhawani Kalika Secondary School, and Jagannath Adhikari, Headmaster of Lakshmi Secondary School, among others.

During the event, Lekhnath Youth Club President Balgopal Shrestha, former school management committee Chairman Hari Prasad Baral, outgoing President Rishiram Paudel, Assistant Headmaster Rajendra Prasad Sharma, and Creative Samaj Lekhnath Advisor Ganesh Bhakta Adhikari all called for the state to introduce a separate education policy for those with different abilities.

The Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Dhanraj Acharya, spoke at the event and emphasized the importance of practical and technical learning, in addition to book knowledge. He expressed his belief that the student's future success would depend on the right use of culture, education, learning, and culture.

Headmaster Anita Sigdel provided a report on the school's annual progress and future plans during the program, which was presided over by Prakash Lal Shrestha, a senior member of the school management committee. At the event, Teacher Uma Gosheli Shrestha, who had completed 25 years of service, received a long service medal, while former Headmaster Vishwaraj Bastola and parent Rishiram Paudel were also honored. Teacher Bhim Prasad Subedi was given a farewell.

Srijana Deaf Residential Secondary School was established in 2044 BS and currently has 241 students from 46 districts, ranging from nursery to 12th grade.
