The seventh Election Day is being celebrated today with the theme "All together in elections." The Chief Election Commissioner, Dinesh Kumar Thapalia, presided over a program held at the Election Commission in Kantipath, where he requested candidates to submit details of their election expenses for the House of Representatives and State Assembly member elections in accordance with the law. He emphasized that disobedience to the election law is not forgivable and that the commission will proceed according to the provisions of the election law.
Compared to previous elections, the commission has made policy reforms and implemented the latest practices, which have resulted in qualitative changes in election management. Chief Thapalia emphasized the need to continue and sustain these changes in election management. He announced that the draft of a unified election law will be prepared and submitted to make the election management timely and efficient, with appropriate political, legal, and institutional structures.
In response to the issue of enthusiastic voter participation and gender representation in the election, the commission will discuss this matter with political parties and interested parties. The Commission's information technology system will also be refined to purify the voter list.
During the program, Commission Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi expressed gratitude to all the employees who contributed significantly to the success of the election. Employees who were judged to be the best in the performance evaluation were also awarded.
