Second Day of Digital Nepal Conclave 2022 [19th June 2022, Sunday]: The Huawei Digital Nepal Conclave in Association with Info Developers and Connected by Ncell program is being organized by ICT Foundation Nepal on June 18 and 19. The two-day program to be organized in The Soaltee Hotel Kathmandu has more than 60 speakers from 5 different countries and 800 participants including all stakeholders.
More than 15 sessions on 5 different themes related to Digital Nepal are being conducted in the conclave organized to discuss the policy and implementation of the past and future steps for the development and expansion of the information technology sector in Nepal.
The conclave features keynote presentations by Patrick Low, an industry expert from Huawei Singapore, Dr. Pallab Saha, GM of Open Network, and Founder / CEO of Ken Ehrhart from Parascosma Inc., USA. Similarly, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari, Chief Executive Officer of Investment Board of Nepal Sushil Bhatt, Secretary at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Baikushtha Aryal, ICT expert Manohar Bhattarai and banker Anil Shah made keynote presentations. The program was inaugurated by Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki was the special guest of the program.
The first day of the Conclave sessions included Digital Infrastructure and Connectivity sessions after the keynote presentation and inauguration. Similarly, Digital Skill, Talent Pool, and Digital Workforce for Digital Nepal session are being held as the second session. The third session of the first day was Data Gaps, Bridging the Data in the Center stage session and the last session of the first day was the Digital Economy and Investment Opportunity session.
The second day of the Kinot presentation will include sessions on Emerging Technologies for Digital Transformation, Digital Entrepreneurship and Cyber Security. On the same day, there are important sessions on Digital Innovation and Beyond for Digital Society, Building Digital Leadership, and finally the way forward for digital transformation. Along with the conference sessions, there will also be some exhibition stalls related to Digital Nepal.
Rajan Lamsal, Chairman of the ICT Foundation, informed that there will be extensive discussions and interactions on the framework, agenda, concept, and digital transformation of Digital Nepal. He said that this is probably the first large-scale program focusing on this issue after the Digital Nepal Framework 2019 was made public. The organizers had a discussion with the Chief Minister, Ministers, people's representatives, and stakeholders about the practices and efforts of digital transformation taking place in the state. At the same time, the organizers had also made public the report including the digital status of the province.
The Digital Nepal Conclave has been attended by over 800 participants including secretaries of government bodies and various ministries, stakeholders of 8 important sectors under the Digital Nepal Framework, corporate and banking sector, information and communication technology sector leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs.
The event is being organized under the slogan 'Digital Nepal Conclave for Digital Transformation'. The program is supported by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Nepal Telecommunication Authority, Nepal Rastra Bank, NAST, and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Conclave's development partner is The Asia Foundation. Similarly, the banking partner is NIC Asia, the digital payment partner is Nepal Clearing House, the knowledge partner is Presidential Business School, and the official partner is Nepal Telecom. The program has the cooperation of Nepal Bank Limited, Rara Labs, Frost & Sullivan, CRI Nepal, and other organizations.
