Presentation of Innovative Enterprises of the Top 10 Young Entrepreneurs

A two-day massive national dialogue has been organized in the capital with the aim of developing young entrepreneurship through the presentation of innovative enterprises of the top 10 young entrepreneurs. 

The program, organized by the National Youth Council and National Youth Network (ION) here today with the support of UNDP Nepal, will encourage the leadership development, creativity and social entrepreneurship of the young entrepreneurs.     

The program will inspire people to contribute towards the pursuit of sustainable development goals through creativity and entrepreneurship, Ion said. Over 300 young entrepreneurs selected from seven provinces participated in the dialogue program.     

During the program, a group of 10 young entrepreneurs selected from each province will give presentations about their ventures.

Through the program, youths are believed to provide a platform for the youth of all sectors to understand the status of social enterprises in Nepal, get the information they need for social entrepreneurship and make their business more robust and social environment-friendly.     

Addressing the dialogue program, Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista stressed on the need to develop entrepreneurship with social responsibility.

Stating that there should be youth mobilization in the overall development and social work of the country, he said that only if there is youth empowerment, the country will be supported to strengthen the economy.     

"There is a need for youth in agriculture, construction, industry, business, and entrepreneurship," he said, emphasizing that the participation of youth in development should be credible.

Stating that the present government has implemented various programs to develop youth entrepreneurship, he said that the youth should be connected with social, economic and cultural aspects.     

 He said that there was a need to increase entrepreneurship, not only to individuals and companies but also to create jobs. "Entrepreneurship should be the upliftment of the society," he said, adding that "entrepreneurship must change society."     

ION Nepal is an umbrella organization of 92 youth organizations in 44 districts. Established in 2005, it has been involved in youth policy making, youth advocacy, capacity building, and youth-related research.
