Pre-Primary Curriculum Development Workshop Concludes

National Private and Residential Schools Association Nepal (National PABSON) and Kathmandu University's Continuing and Professional Education Center (CPEC) conducted a pre-primary school curriculum development workshop from March 20 to 22.

The workshop had participation from pre-primary education experts across the country, private school founders, principals, and Kathmandu University professors. The purpose of the workshop was to modernize, make effective, and child-friendly the 21st-century pre-primary curriculum. Participants interacted on topics focused on improving teaching methods, using new principles, the effective use of educational materials, and the overall development of children.

Kathmandu University education experts and senior professors provided advice and guidance on creating a suitable curriculum for children aged 0 to 8 years, based on Nepal's Child Development and Education (ECD) curriculum.

Discussions occurred on plans to review the current curricula implemented in private schools and develop curricula aimed at children aged 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, 6-7, and 7-8 years.

Workshop participants received academic research, motivational classes, and dynamic activities, with an expectation of overall improvement in Nepal's pre-primary education system.

The proposed curriculum developed by National PABSON in collaboration with Kathmandu University will proceed to a process to obtain approval from the Curriculum Development Center. Also, National PABSON plans to conduct trainer training programs for implementation in schools across the country and provide required training to teachers.

Education Policy and Training Commission Chief Karna Bahadur Shahi and National PABSON Central President Gita Kshetri Rana announced the successful completion of the workshop.
