Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences Celebrates 12th Foundation Day with Exceptional Achievements
The Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS) under Tribhuvan University has showcased outstanding performance in medical and nursing education. This achievement was highlighted during a special ceremony commemorating the 12th foundation day of NAIHS.
Outstanding Results in Medical and Nursing Education
NAIHS has reported remarkable results, with students excelling across various disciplines. According to Dr. Devendra Raj Khatri, Executive Director and former senior professor, Sainik College, a part of NAIHS, achieved a 100% success rate with excellent marks. Notably, 94% of MBBS students from the institute passed the medical council examination, and the nursing students achieved a 100% pass rate.
Quality Education as the Key to Success
Addressing the ceremony, Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma emphasized the importance of quality education in keeping up with advancements in medical science and technology. He commended NAIHS for its significant contribution to producing skilled medical professionals necessary for the country's healthcare system.
Emphasis on Advanced Teaching Methods
Chief of Army Staff Sharma, who also serves as the Patron of NAIHS, highlighted the necessity of adopting modern teaching methods, especially with the advent of 'Robotic' technology in medical science. He stressed that the institution should continue to provide quality education using the latest technological advancements.
Recognition of Academic Excellence
During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Kesharjung Bara, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, praised NAIHS for its unparalleled contribution to producing skilled manpower in the challenging field of health education.
Awards and Honors
Chief of Army Staff Sharma awarded cash prizes and gold medals to top-performing students. Ranju Adhikari received the award for the best result in nursing education, while Jinis Maharjan was honored for achieving the best result in MBBS. Additionally, students Puja Adhikari, Janaki Puri, Kajan Thapa, Rajni Gurung, Sarun Yogi, Vidya Bhat, Rahul Yadav, Sajina Shrestha, Garima Gurung, Amrita Dhungana, Jenisha Gurung, and Niranjana Saud were recognized with prizes and medals for their academic achievements.
Current Enrollment and Programs
NAIHS currently educates 1,900 students across various programs, including PCL Nursing, General Medicine, Pharmacy, Radiography, Physiotherapy, and CMLT. The institute offers certificate levels and degree programs such as MBBS, BSc Nursing, BN, BPH, and BSc MLT.
NAIHS continues to set high standards in medical and nursing education, contributing significantly to Nepal's healthcare sector by producing competent and skilled medical professionals.
