Nepal Literature Festival 2020 Started in Sarangkot, Pokhara:

The ninth edition of 'IME Nepal Literature Festival 2020' is starting in Pokhara from today. The festival, organized by the Bookworm Foundation and co-organized by the Random Readers Society and sponsored by the IME Group will run for two days with the objective of promoting Nepali art, literature, and culture.

The opening ceremony was held on Monday evening on the eve of the festival to be held in Sarangkot, Pokhara. On the evening before the official inauguration of the festival, Pradip Rodan and Amrit Subedi recited more than 10 ghazals in the program of Ghazal Mehfil.

Rodan, who is also the general secretary of Sahitya Sadhana Pratisthan Gorkha is famous for his ghazal performances. Showing an interfering presence in Nepali ghazals, he recited various ghazals on love, politics, and contemporary issues at the festival.

The festival will be attended by more than 50 speakers including industrialists, writers, journalists, artists, celebrities and prominent personalities, said Keshav Sharan Lamichhane, President of Random Readers of Society.

Due to Kovid this year, all the sessions of the festival will be broadcast live on social media and the organizer's official YouTube channel through virtual media, he said. All sessions of the festival can also be watched on Dishome's TV.

There will be 15 sessions at this Literature Festivals including “The meaning of literature at the festival, Corona-era industry, and commerce, Nepal in the eyes of youth, reading hustle, Corona's melting public health, what wealth - what a settlement and hardworking girls, the meaning of being a queer, wonderful personality, extraordinary writing, three stories, post-Corona cinema, Opportunism on Federalism, Maharani Ko Rajniti, Climate Change, Our Future, and the country as seen from the province”.
