National Private & Boarding Schools' Association Nepal (N-PABSON) Kaski to Host First-Ever Children's Talent Festival in Pokhara

In an initiative to showcase young talents, the National Private & Boarding Schools' Association Nepal (N-PABSON) Kaski announced its plans to organize the first Children's Talent Festival in Pokhara. Slated for December 22-24, 2023, this event aims to bring to light the diverse talents of children, as shared by the organizers in a press meet in Pokhara on Monday.

Set to take place at the Pokhara Exhibition Center Nayabazar, the festival promises a vibrant array of activities. Hemant Adhikari, the President of N-PABSON Kaski, highlighted the event's focus on folk culture. Competitions in folk dance, solo singing, painting, acting, and poetry recitation are designed to draw students closer to their cultural roots.

Adding a contemporary twist, the festival will also feature competitions in inventions and upcycling-recycling, underscoring the importance of science and technology in today’s education. Adhikari emphasized that these segments aim to foster creativity and environmental awareness among students.

In a bid to preserve and promote Nepalese traditional handicrafts, the festival will include a competitive exhibition of items crafted from indigenous materials. Items made from straw, Chhawali, Choya, and leaves, which hold a special place in Nepali society but are at risk of fading away, will be showcased.

This event is not just a platform for display but also a competition, with the best talents being recognized and awarded cash prizes. The festival is set to witness participation from students of all 47 schools affiliated with N-PABSON Kaski, turning it into a grand celebration of youthful creativity and cultural heritage. Organizers are anticipating an audience of over 100,000 people, making it a landmark event in Pokhara's cultural calendar.
