The festival is scheduled to be held in Lekhnath in the fourth week of December. The 18th edition of the festival organized by the Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be held from 22nd December 2022 to 1st January 2023 (7th Poush to 18th Poush 2079).
At the press conference held on Saturday, the president of the association and the original coordinator of the festival, Chhatradhar Atreya, said that the festival was carried out according to the schedule.
Atreya informed us that a workshop will be held in coordination with the relevant agencies to develop the tourist area in Lekhnath. He said that the local products will be promoted by displaying homemade products.
There will be 337 stalls in the festival with the slogan 'Festival of Lekhnath's culture, local production, development, and prosperity'. Rajendra Ojha, Coordinator of the Publicity Management Subcommittee and First Vice President of the Association, said that 250,000 people are expected to watch the festival.
It is estimated that there will be a turnover of 10 crores at the festival. The goal of the association is to save 10 lakhs with an income of 95 lakhs and expenses of 85 lakhs. The surplus amount is planned to be spent on the initiative and support for the construction of the exhibition venue and the upgradation of the association's building in the industrial area, the development of the birthplace of poet Shiromani Lekhnath Paudyal and the promotion of the tourist spot.
Organizers say that the festival will make the country's economy run and gather producers and consumers in one place. Literature, women special, school level, cultural, tribal, tribal special programs, biological diversity, agriculture, and livestock exhibition, information technology, educational exhibition, handicrafts, and best dances reflecting the customs and culture that are about to disappear in honor of caste will be exhibited. Daily performances by famous comedians, children's garden, food festival, folk songs, live music concerts are the additional attractions of the fair.
