Kathmandu College of Central State Hosts Welcome and Farewell Event

Kathmandu College of Central State, Soltimode, Kathmandu, held a welcome and farewell program for students. On Monday, 24th Mangsir 2081, a grand event was held at Pragya Bhawan, Kamaladi, to welcome new students and bid farewell to those who passed class 12.

The welcome and farewell program was chaired by the school/college's founder principal and chairman, Manoj Thapa, with former Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Gopalman Shrestha as the chief guest. The event was attended by the college's academic director, Tank Prasad Gaire; planning head, Mahesh Gharti; financial director, Rahul Yadav; vice principal of the school, Rajkumar Shrestha; and other teachers and staff.

Rajan Shrestha, the coordinator of classes 11 and 12, conducted the formal ceremony. Tank Prasad Gaire, the academic director, delivered the welcome speech on behalf of the college.

In the program, founder principal and chairman Manoj Thapa welcomed the new students enrolled in class 11 and wished the students who passed class 12 success in their future academic journey. He advised students to study and work hard in their own country instead of going abroad immediately after completing class 12.

He emphasized the importance of being dynamic and moving forward at all times, stating that patience is key during times of crisis and that young students should not be discouraged during difficult times. Principal Thapa highlighted the college's motto of "Knowledge, Creativity & Discipline," stressing the need to transform knowledge into creativity and apply it disciplined.

Former Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Gopalman Shrestha also addressed the program. He criticized the trend of students going abroad after completing class 12 and encouraged them to stay and work in Nepal. "Your future is in Nepal," Shrestha said. "Let's not send our young children abroad and make parents happy. Let's make education and health free. Govinda K.C.'s intentions were not right. Due to his movement, students left. Our young children went abroad," he added.

In the welcome and farewell program, Kathmandu College of Central State honored students from classes 11 and 12 who achieved top GPAs in management, science, law, and humanities faculties with medals and certificates. Among them were Manjuri Rijal, Sapana Rai, and Purnima Rai from the law faculty; Manish Katuwal, Prajin Shahi, Prajwal Subedi, Ningma Tamang, and Aradhana Shrestha from the humanities faculty; and Sagar K.C., Rubina Darnal, Prasiddha Dawadi, and Sunita Gole from the management faculty. Other students who passed were given tokens of appreciation. The college also honored two outstanding teachers with certificates.

Students organized various entertaining cultural programs in the second session of the welcome and farewell program. They showcased their talents through artistic and cultural dances and singing performances.
