Holy Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition: Call for Applications

The Muslim Commission, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (supported by the embassy), is organizing the Holy Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition in Kathmandu.

Qualified and interested Nepali Muslim citizens are invited to participate in this competition. Applications must be submitted via the Google Form available on the Muslim Commission's official website (www.muslimcommission.gov.np) between 2081/07/28 and 2081/08/27 (November 13, 2024, to December 12, 2024).

Finalists will compete in Kathmandu on December 21 and 22, 2024.

Branches of Competition

  1. The First Branch:
    Memorization of the entire Holy Quran.

  2. The Second Branch:
    Memorization of 15 consecutive parts (01-15).

  3. The Third Branch:
    Memorization of 5 consecutive parts (01-05).

  4. The Fourth Branch:
    Memorization of 2 consecutive parts (29-30).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age of Participants:

    • First Branch: 15-23 years.

    • Second Branch: 12-17 years.

    • Third Branch: 10-17 years for males; 10-15 years for females.

    • Fourth Branch: 10-15 years for both males and females.

  • Other Conditions:

    1. Only residents from the specified areas are eligible to participate.

    2. A participant may compete in only one category.

    3. Proof of age and nationality via official documents is mandatory.

    4. Participants who have won awards in the same category in the previous year are ineligible to compete in that category.

    5. Only students of registered schools are eligible.

    6. Providing false information or documents will lead to disqualification.

    7. Violating any competition rules will result in removal.

    8. The jury's decision will be final and cannot be challenged.

Required Documents

  1. A photocopy of the identification card.

  2. Two recent passport-sized photographs (2x2 inches).
